A Visitor At Dusk captures Comet NEOWISE on July 13, 2021, during its brief and unforgettable passage through the inner solar system. The comet was remarkable, as it was the first comet in many years that was visible to the naked eye.
Suspended above the fading glow of twilight, the comet's luminous dust tail arcs across the sky- sunlight reflecting from ancient particles released as the comet nucleus passes by the warming sun.
The image is notable for both its timing and perspective. To the artist's knowledge, it is among the only published images of Comet NEOWISE captured using a Celestron RASA, revealing exceptional clarity, structure and tonal depth within the comet's evolving tail. The result is a rare portrait of a once-in-a-lifetime visitor, shaped by motion, light and time.
Each print is produced locally in Michigan in collaboration with a professional fine art printer using archival materials to ensure exceptional detail, depth and longevity.
