I'm a Michigan-based astrophotographer with a background in science and clinical dentistry. By profession, I'm an endodontist - a field that demands precision, patience, and attention to detail. Astrophotography draws on those same disciplines, just on a very different scale.
I began photographing the night sky after witnessing the total solar eclipse in 2017—a moment that transformed my fascination with astronomy into a dedicated pursuit. What started as curiosity became sustained passion for deep-sky imaging, planetary detail, and rare celestial events - from dark-sky locations and from my home in suburban Michigan.
My work focuses on structure within the cosmos: sculpted interstellar dust, nebulae, galaxies, and comets. Each image represents hours of collected exposure and careful processing, with an emphasis on clarity and physical accuracy.
Through Astroshap, l hope to present the night sky as something tangible- shaped by physics, time and light.
