Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)
Captured during the final weeks of visibility, Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) reveals a delicate dust tail fading into the surrounding star field as the comet slips toward the western horizon. Low altitude and encroaching twilight made this a challenging target, yet the comet’s structure remained striking even under imperfect skies.
This image was recorded just after dusk from a location chosen for its unobstructed western view, as the comet hovered only a few degrees above the horizon. Light pollution and passing clouds limited the session to roughly thirty minutes of usable data, softening finer details while emphasizing the broader sweep of the dust tail as it dissolves into darkness.
Rather than a pristine, high-altitude apparition, this view preserves the reality of observing transient visitors from Earth—fleeting, imperfect, and shaped as much by circumstance as by celestial mechanics. The result is a quiet record of a comet at departure, captured during its last observable moments before fading from view.
